British comedian Russell Brand is returning to Auckland for a Vector Arena show in October.
The international star last performed in New Zealand in late 2012.
The outspoken high-profile funnyman was a prominent figure in the recent UK election, using his web series The Trews to endorse losing Labour leader Ed Miliband.
After the Conservative win, Brand reflected on his apparent lack of influence on the result.
"I'm just a comedian! I'm not even electable or nothing! I'm just a bloke with a laptop and a bit of mouth."
"And now, actually, the Conservatives have won and I sort of feel like the media doesn't have the same power it used to. [I thought] people don't listen to the front pages of the Sun or the Mail," he said. "But evidently, that is not the case."
After a run of Hollywood films since his breakthrough role in 2008's Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Brand's movie career appears to have slowed.
He next appears as "God" in Army of One by Borat/Curb Your Enthusiasm director Larry Charles.
Tickets for the October 14 Auckland date on Brand's Trew World Order tour go on sale on June 2 via Ticketmaster.
