Auckland's biggest outdoor festive celebration Christmas in the Park will go ahead tonight, despite downpours this afternoon.
The event, being staged at the Domain, will kick off at 7.30pm, as planned.
"It is forecast the weather will clear up in the evening and the park has been in very good shape, so it is all go," event spokeswoman Deborah Delaney said.
"We have never had to move the event in 23 years because of rain and we are still expecting a massive crowd."
The talent-packed lineup includes singing sensation Stan Walker, honky-tonk songstress Tami Neilson, Vince Harder, Lavina Williams, Barry Conrad and Nyree Huyser, as well as host of dancers and musicians.
Brady Peeti will play Santa at the popular outdoor Christmas concert which will be presented from a new high tech stage, featuring a 66 metre arc of LED screens.
