A front over the far south weakens as it moves northwards today. Another front,followed by a ridge, moves over the South Island and lower North Island on Wednesday, then over the remainder of the North Island on Thursday.Another front moves onto the South Island on Friday.

Tuesday: Westerly 10 knots changing southeast 10 knots mid-morning, then rising to easterly 15 knots in the afternoon. Sea slight. Fair visibility in rain at times from mid-morning.
