Facial redness means inflammation and sensitivity is occurring so it's important your skincare and makeup regime focuses on calming, hydrating and protecting the skin's natural barrier. Avoid over-exfoliation, astringents or products that foam heavily on application — this means they probably contain sulphates, which can strip the skin. Before applying makeup use a primer to help even out skin tone and choose a foundation that is formulated to correct redness.
1. Avene antirougeurs dermo-cleansing milk, $40
2. Dermalogica redness relief primer spf 20, $89
3. Clinique redness solutions makeup, $64
4. Jane Iredale corrective colours kit, $65
Do: consult a doctor or dermatologist if you suffer from rosacea, dermatitis or psoriasis.
Don't: use products containing alcohol, fragrance or glycolic acid, as these can exacerbate redness.

Giorgio armani code profumo 60ml, $128
Not for the faint-hearted, this is a sexy, smouldering, masculine fragrance. Green mandarin and crisp apple dominate the top notes, drying off to a heart of nutmeg and a base of tonka bean and burnt styrax wood.
Lancôme renergie multi-lift memory shape gel in lotion, $80
Top marks for the pretty bottle, but what wereally like about this new addition to the Renergie range is the lotion's ingenious suspended polymers, which nourish, firm and plump the skin.

"After I shave I use Triumph & Disaster Gameface moisturiser and ELTA MD UV Daily Lightweight SPF 40. I carry it with me on the golf course or out fishing. My tip: don't forget to apply sunscreen to your ears and back of the neck and remember to re-apply regularly."
