SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) " A protest has temporarily cut the main link between Puerto Rico and the nearby islands of Vieques and Culebra, potentially disrupting travel for hundreds of people.
Ferry operators and other government workers say they're protesting talks about possibly privatizing the ferry operation to the islands to trim the government budget. They say the protest that started Wednesday will continue until they can meet with the U.S. territory's governor to talk about their concerns.
The ferries move hundreds of thousands of passengers a year.
Puerto Rico is increasingly seeking public-private partnerships to help it emerge from a decade-long economic crisis.
