Apple has released the second generation of the Apple Watch at its annual event in San Francisco - the Apple Watch Series 2.
At a launch event this morning, the company revealed an upgraded Apple Watch with GPS connectivity, a faster processor and an improved battery. The original Apple Watch went on sale in April 2015, having been announced in September 2014 - an upgrade was long overdue.
Series 2 has the brightest screen available on Apple, double the current quality.
Existing aluminium and stainless steel models are available as well as a new ceramic material. The pearl-like shiny case is four times stronger than stainless steel.
The OS upgrade brings a whole host of new features including apps loading seven times faster with a new Instant Performance feature, social fitness and health applications and a revamped messaging service with improved handwriting recognition.
The OS3 makes it easier to swipe through watch faces with a simple double tap on messages to send a fast reply. They have introduced animated stickers and effects, such as falling confetti and a scribble function for writing with a touch screen.
They have also added a safety app which allows you to contact emergency services and send a location to an assigned contact.
Pokemon Go, the world's favourite game, is being brought to the Apple Watch. The app has been downloaded more than 500 million times around the world since its launch on July 6.

Gameplay is blended with your daily walk or run. Watch faces show how far you have to walk to hatch your egg, nearby pokemon and how many calories have been burnt.
Waterproofing for up to 50 metres is available on the new Apple Watches.
A tracker algorithm for swimmers will also give an accurate calorie burn count, personalised health and sports stats, with two workout programmes on offer for swimmers.
The new model comes with a speaker that is able to eject any water that gets inside the speaker grill.
The watch has an S2 chip with dual core processor which works up to 50 per cent faster with a low power usage. This means apps and interface will respond more quickly with better audio and video playback ability. This has been added to the existing Apple Watch Series 1 for an updated model.
There is also built-in GPS for measuring accurate pace and distance.
Apple have partnered with Nike to create a model catered to runners. The watch prompts you to exercise, lets you connect with friends and join the Nike Running Club.
