The next chairwoman of NZ Post has been confirmed as a Queenstown-based lawyer and company director.
Jane Taylor joins NZ Post's board today and will become chairwoman when former Deputy Prime Minister Sir Michael Cullen retires from the position on October 31.
Taylor is chairwoman of Landcare Research, and deputy chairwoman of Radio New Zealand. She is a director of Silver Fern Farms, Hirepool Group and OTPP NZ Forest Investments.
Finance Minister Bill English thanked Cullen for his "excellent stewardship" of the board during the restructuring of NZ Post over the past six years.
In April the NZ Post Group announced it had received a $495 million indicative offer from the NZ Superannuation Fund and Accident Compensation Corp to buy 25 per cent and 20 per cent respectively of subsidiary Kiwi Group Holdings, which owns Kiwibank.
NZ Post said in June that more time was needed to complete the proposed sale, but said due diligence was progressing well.
