1. Hotels
The NZ Hotel Industry Conference opens today and continues tomorrow at The Langham, Auckland. Today is for the hotel forum and technical seminar. Last year's conference was sold out, organisers, said, so they're expecting large numbers today. Awards and a gala dinner are planned as part of the event.
2. Trade
At 10.45am, Statistics NZ will release March terms of trade information.
3. Real estate
Quotable Value is due to release its regular monthly residential property information on the last three months at midday today. This shows how values throughout New Zealand have changed in the last three months and in the last year, as well as since the previous peak of the market in 2007.
4. China
Today sees the release of the May Official PMI for China, followed by the Caixin manufacturing PMI shortly after. Craig's Mark Lister says: "Both of these measures came in below forecasts last month, with the Official PMI slowing from 50.2 to 50.1 in April, and the Caixin PMI falling to 49.4 from 49.7. This month, the market is expecting further slippage in both these indicators."
