Simon Botherway, a former boutique fund manager and one-time shareholder activist is leaving his role at ANZ Wealth after less than 18 months in job.
Botherway joined the bank's investment management division in April last year after a role as chairman of the Financial Markets Authority's establishment board.
In a statement the company said Botherway had resigned from his role as GM Invesment Management as of the end of September.
ANZ Wealth managing director John Body said Botherway had been tasked with bringing the company's OnePath and ANZ investment management teams together.
"Simon has now completed this work successfully. We wish Simon well in his next endeavours."
The shake-up saw a number of departures including former head of equities Amanda Smith and former chief investment officer Philip Houghton Brown.
An ANZ Wealth spokesman said a replacement for Botherway had not been made and the position was under review.
