Perfumed candle makers Ecoya have announced a new deal to sell its products in Japan.

The company said it had partnered with Japanese company Kinu Corporation. Kinu president Wataru Kajimura said the new contract with Ecoya gave it "real strength" in the growing home fragrance market.

"We are thrilled to bring Ecoya's products to Japan and we are confident that they will soon be in the living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms of some of the most interesting Japanese people, "said Kajimaru.

Company chairman Geoff Ross said Asia continued to be a growth market for the company, which exported 72 per cent of its products. He expected this to grow as Asian consumers took a larger interest in skin and body care products.
