Internal promotions at leading accountancy firm Staples Rodway will see the company begin 2012 with three new directors. Current associate directors Mark Kingsford, Nigel de Frere and Mike Rudd took up their roles as directors in January.

Eleven associate professors at The University of Auckland have been promoted to professor. Promotion to professor is a mark of distinction, recognising professional and academic eminence at an international level.The new professors are from the Faculties of Arts, Business and Economics, Creative Arts and Industries, Engineering, Medical and Health Sciences, and Science. They are professor Robert Amor, professor Toni Ashton, professor James Bade, professor Tom Brittain, professor Kendall Clements, professor Anthony Endres, professor Georgy Gimel'farb, professor Uwe Grodd, professor Andrew Graham Hill, professor Margaret Hyland and professor Martyn Nash.
