Australian budget fare airline Jetstar has launched a new low-rate credit card, the Jetstar MasterCard.

Partnering with the card's issuer, Macquarie Bank, the move marks Jetstar's first foray into a product beyond airline and holiday travel.

In addition to it functioning as a normal credit card, with an every day rate of 10.99 percent, the MasterCard offers a loyalty rewards scheme.

'Jetstar Dollars' accrued by using the card can be redeemed and used to pay for flights on the airline's network.
