Boxer Shane Cameron has his hands full with two big looming deadlines - his next fight and the birth of his son.
Cameron will be back in the ring for the first time in a year when he takes on a yet-to-be-named international opponent at a Fight for Life heavyweight bout at Waitakere's Trusts Arena on December 14. The boxer's first boy is due a month later.
Cameron's new wife Tara is helping co-ordinate his gruelling training regime, despite being 6 months pregnant.
"I'm trying to do a bit of everything for him, like being his water girl, wiping the sweat off him and getting his protein shakes. I feel like part of the team," Tara said.
She revealed the pair will soon have to sleep in separate rooms.
"I'm going to need a bit of rest in the build up, so we will be playing rock-paper-scissors to see who has to move into the spare bedroom," he said.
Cameron is looking to again make an impact in the heavyweight division after his loss to Australian Danny Green in a world cruiserweight title fight in Melbourne last November. He was due to take on Australian cruiserweight Brad Pitt next month but the bout was scrapped.
