Despite high winds on the greens here in Christchurch, the first day of the World Bowls Championships went off without a glitch. Results were mixed with current Commonwealth Gold Medalist Jo Edwards going down in her second game to Kelly McKerihen of Canada 16-21.
Our Men's triples won two of their three games today at Burnside Bowling Club, beating Jersey 16-13 in the first round and Canada 23-8 in the third round this afternoon. The men had a tough game against Australia in the second round, losing 9-19.
