Free family fun for all ages is on offer at Children's Day 2018 at Queens Park Pukenamu.
The event has been organised by Jane Barlow, senior children's librarian at Whanganui District Library, and Tess Petley, of For Our Kids at Nga Tai o Te Awa.
"Children's Day was actually on March 4 but there were so many other events happening that day that we decided to hold ours later so people can make it along," Ms Barlow said.
The event will run from 11am to 2pm this Sunday, March 18, at Queens Park Pukenamu.
Activities include the mobile library, bouncy castle, children's book sale, sausage sizzle, face painting and rock painting. Plunket Whanganui will be there as will Wilbur, the dental van.
"Wilbur will be there for people to have a look around," Ms Barlow said.
"There are many children in Whanganui who don't visit the dental van so this is a chance for them to have a look.
"We hope everyone will come along to have lots of fun."
Water will be provided but people need to take their own water bottle.
It is the second year Ms Barlow and Ms Petley have joined forces to organise a Children's Day event.
