Less than a month after they got hitched, Matthew McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves, have announced they are expecting their third child.
"Happy birthday America, more good news," the actor, 42, tweeted to mark the Independence holiday on July 4. "Camila and I are expecting our 3rd child, God bless, just keep livin."
Alves, 29, also posted the message on her Twitter account.
The couple, who said "I do" on June 9 on their Austin, Texas ranch, are already parents to daughter Vida, 2, and son Levi, who is almost 4.
Together since 2006, the actor and Brazilian-born Alves announced their engagement on Christmas Day in 2011.
McConaughey broke the news to fans by posting a picture of the couple kissing on his blog, complete with the caption: "just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas."
Last month, the Magic Mike star opened up to Access Hollywood about the wedding.
"I was not nervous leading up to it, because I was secure in what I was doing. I knew how I loved her...no regret. There was none of that. No, 'Am I doing the right thing?'" he said.
"I remember leaning my head back and sort of just thinking and praying...I had gone through 42 years of my life and things when you were a child and looking forward to getting married one day and everything and then I went through 29 years of her life...and it hit me that... here's this woman that was once a young girl and this is every girl's dream to find their prince and find their king and to have that fairytale that a young girl has and then grows into a woman, and then it hit me I went, 'And I'm that man'" he recalled.
"As soon as my head came down the music cued and she walked in and I lost it. It was wonderful and I'll never forget that moment."
It was also announced today that actress Claire Danes is expecting her first child with husband Hugh Dancy.
Danes' representative confirmed the news to People magazine.
The Homeland star, 33, married Dancy, 37, in a private ceremony in France in 2009.
"There's definitely a chance, no plans yet," Danes said last year about the possibility of having children. "But yeah, that'd be fun."
Congratulations all around!
