BDO line-up sorted

Big Day Out organisers have revealed the third and final instalment of performers for next year's show, including the Electric Confectionaires, Shocking Pinks, Missing Teeth and other local bands.

The Exiles, Mu, Battle Circus, False Start, Surf City, Dick Johnson, All Left Out, The Kingsland Vinyl Appreciation Society, Kerretta, The Lookie Loos, Pig Out and Solstate complete the line-up.

In addition to his Big Day Out showcase, 50-year-old socialist singer/songwriter and rocker Billy Bragg will play two intimate gigs at the Leigh Sawmill, on January 15, and Wellington's San Francisco Bath House on January 16. Tickets are available from Ticketek and Real Groovy outlets.

Also touring before the Big Day Out, former Dead Moon rockers Fred and Toody Cole return with their new band Pierced Arrows for a North Island tour.

Starting in Wellington on January 11, the band will play in New Plymouth and Raglan before their two Auckland shows on January 15 at the Whammy Bar and 16 at the Kings Arms.

Finally, Finnish love metallers HIM won't make it in time for the Big Day Out but are set to return to New Zealand shores next year, playing a one-off concert at the Powerstation in March.

Following their sold-out concert at the St James last year, HIM will play on March 31. Tickets from Ticketmaster and Real Groovy.
