One person has been taken to Rotorua Hospital with a suspected collarbone injury following a crash on State Highway 36 after a car went off the road and crashed into a bush.
A police spokeswoman said police were called to the crash on Pyes Pa Rd at the intersection of Dudley Rd and Tauranga Direct Rd just before 8am.
The spokeswoman said a member of the public phoned police to report a car had gone off the road and into a bush.
"They were not able to provide any further details because of bad cellphone reception," she said.
St John ambulance was also called to the scene to assist the single occupant with a suspected collarbone injury.
The spokeswoman said the person was taken to hospital with moderate injuries and a tow truck had been called to remove the car from the scene.
