A temporary i-SITE will be installed in the heart of Mount Maunganui next month to help summer visitors.
The satellite i-SITE will be take up two mobility parking spaces in the Phoenix carpark and will be open every day except Christmas day from December 4 to April 3.
Replacement accessible parks would be replaced by Tauranga City Council before the i-SITE opened.
From 10.30am to 4pm i-SITE staff and volunteers will be in the portable building ready to give tourists information and make bookings for accommodation, attractions and activities.
Tourism Bay of Plenty chief executive Kristin Dunne said during the period the city would host cruise ships as well as several sporting and cultural events that would attract big crowds.
She said the satellite station was a temporary solution for the busiest time of year while Tourism Bay of Plenty attempted to secure an additional $1m funding which will allow a permanent i-SITE to be built in Coronation Park.
