A Tauranga band has won a prestigious national award as Worship Artist of the Year.
Curate Music is celebrating bringing home a 'Tui' from the Vodafone Music Awards held in Auckland on Thursday night.
The band was recognised for their album 'These Eyes' released in March.
Curate is a church based in Mount Maunganui and Whakatane and is preparing to open a Tauranga base in February.
The creative community within these locations is made up of around 40 singers and musicians who actively volunteer their time to create and build the creative expression of Curate Church.
Curate Music was now working on writing for their next project.
Singer and songwriter Georgia Lines said the way in which the band created was constantly evolving.
"We are always finding new ways of saying things which resonate deeply within us, and hope that in some way it resonates with the people around us, no matter how wide our sphere is," she said.
"The process and way in which we achieve that is the exciting part."
