A local economy in "really good shape", high growth, and innovation will be some of the key talking points at Priority One's annual general meeting tomorrow.
The economic development organisation's chief executive, Nigel Tutt, said today that there was a lot of optimism about the state of the Western Bay economy, the amount of growth now and the near future.
They would also discuss innovation as well as some of the success stories in the region.
Tauranga and the Western Bay building towards a knowledge economy and more high skilled jobs would also be addressed, Mr Tutt said, as would Priority One's "unique model" and what value that was delivering to its members and the region.
He said growing pains might be talked about but he was not sure if the AGM was the right forum for that topic to be discussed at length.
"But clearly we want to grow with intelligence in the future and I guess it's up to the region as to how we do that.
"We're in control of that and we've seen what's happened to other cities that have high growth and don't invest and grow in the right way. So we're pretty keen to avoid that here."
Mr Tutt said Priority One was in a good financial state with funding up slightly from the year before. Funding varied, however, depending on projects, he said.
