A Mount Maunganui real estate office has won a top national award.
The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) award for Small Residential Office - Highest Gross Commission went to the Success Realty (Bayleys) Mount Maunganui.
The REINZ Awards for Excellence were held at Auckland Museum last Friday, and 37 agencies took home a prize.
Bayleys Real Estate was also a finalist for Large Agency of the Year, which was won by Barfoot and Thompson.
"As always, there was a high calibre of entries resulting in some tough calls for some of the judges," REINZ chief executive Bindi Norwell said.
More than 20 awards went to Auckland-based agencies, and most of the rest to agencies based in Christchurch or Wellington.
Simon Anderson, chief executive of Realty Group, which operates Eves and Bayleys, said the company was delighted with the Mount Maunganui office's award.
"We're absolutely stoked with the recognition; we just think it's an amazing reward for their hard work. We've got a good team of experienced sales people there."
The win did not come as a complete surprise, Mr Anderson said.
"We knew they'd had a good year ... they were the strongest office."
Awards were given for residential, commercial/industrial and rural real estate.
In the residential category, awards were given for highest volume and highest gross commission to small, medium-sized and large real estate offices.
The award reflected the state of the real estate market in Mount Maunganui as well as the work of the salespeople, Mr Anderson said.
Eves and Bayleys Tauranga was also in the final for best medium-sized agency and Realty Group office Bayleys Country Waikato won medium rural agency of the year.
