Police are at the scene of a reported robbery of a takeaway store in Te Puke township tonight.
A police communication spokeswoman said at 8.22pm tonight police received a report of a robbery at a fish and chip shop in Jellicoe St, Te Puke.
"Some cash was taken," the spokesperson said.
It was unknown whether a weapon was used in the robbery but there was no firearm involved, she said.

The police spokeswoman said the investigation was still in early stages and no other information was available at this time.
This is the eighth raid of a store in the Western Bay district since April.
