A Mount Maunganui motorcycle dealership is organising a three-hour ride to raise money for the RSA on Anzac Day.
They planned to leave from Prestige Motorcycles on Newton St, and follow a looping route around the Bay of Plenty.
The riders would travel through Papamoa and along the coast to Matata and then in a circle around Lake Rotoiti to Rotorua, and back to Tauranga.
Prestige Motorcycles' dealer principal Callum Beckett said the idea for the ride stemmed from their acquisition of several vintage Royal Enfield motorcycles from World War II and before.
"We constantly look for opportunities to get the community and motorcyclists together," Mr Beckett said.
He added that they were still looking for more motorcyclists to ride the route on the day.
"We don't have a huge number of confirmed participants," he said.
"We've got six that have confirmed and 30 on our interested list on Facebook."
Mr Beckett and his staff would be participating in the ride, but were looking for more people to join them.
"We'd like to think we could get at least double that number."
Prestige Motorcycles planned to sell poppies at the dealership before the ride to raise money for the Poppy Appeal.
The RSA's Poppy Appeal was launched last week and will finish on Poppy Day on April 21, the Friday before Anzac Day.
RSA chief executive Jack Steer outlined what the money raised by the appeal would be used for.
"The Poppy Appeal funds can only be used to provide help and support to those veterans and their families, regardless of whether they are RSA members or not," he said.
"All funds collected by clubs locally are also deployed locally, providing care to those servicemen and women and their families living in your communities."
Donations could be also made to street collectors or at ANZ and NZ Post branches.
Motorcyclists were asked to assemble for the Anzac ride at the dealership at 8.30am on April 25 for a 9am start.
