Blair Beeching and James de Lange are two students who have embraced the potential offered by the school's new technology.
Last year they both learned how to fly drones while on a six-week foci - and both then bought their own.
Blair's was a media drone with a camera, while James bought a racing drone.
Blair said he hopes to replace the existing camera with a 360 degree version.
"Then I hope to be able to use the footage in the virtual reality [VR] environment."
James said it would be cool to use the footage with the school's VR equipment such as VR headsets.
"I like the idea of things like that, but just for fun," he said. "I do some photography, but not as much as Blair.
"Photography and drones go hand in hand," said Blair. "After the foci last year, I got to realise I could make a job of it and that's quite exciting."
Aerial footage has been a feature of some of the events held at the school this year, including the swimming sports, athletics and Battle of the Houses, plus last week's Prime Minister's visit.
