A car toppled on its side in Tauranga central this afternoon, leaving its female driver visibly shaken.
The whole incident was over within a matter of minutes as emergency services promptly arrived to the crash on Edgecumbe Rd between 5th Ave and 6th Ave to rescue the driver at 3.50pm.
Firefighters held the passenger car door open with rope and used a ladder to quickly reach the woman, who was sitting in the driver's side.
Firefighters lifted the woman out, putting her in the capable hands of ambulance staff at the scene. The woman did not appear to be seriously injured.
Neighbours and passersby stopped at the scene, many having run to the huge crashing noise as the car rolled on to its side.
One neighbour said many motorists sped along the quiet street, which was a 50km/h zone, but it appeared the driver of the rolled car had bumped into a parked car as she headed in the direction of 11th Ave.
"Going along this street I can understand people getting distracted, there are so many nice gardens," the neighbour said.
