A sausage sizzle will be held in Mount Maunganui in an effort to raise money for those affected by the 7.8 magnitude Kaikoura earthquake.

Bunnings Warehouse in the Mount would be throwing sausages on the BBQ this Friday, with all funds going directly to the Red Cross' earthquake appeal.

From 10am to 2pm the store on Jean Batten Rd would be selling sausages and have encouraged locals to come down to support.

The Red Cross donated all of special appeal donations to the emergency response on the ground, which would help to provide support to communities affected by last week's earthquake.

Those unable to make it to Bunnings could make a donation online at https://www.redcross.org.nz/donate/november-2016-earthquake-appeal/
