Tauranga's Stephanie O'Sullivan has been appointed the advisory board chairperson of the University of Waikato Adams Centre for High Performance.
She was joined on the Board by University of Waikato Deputy Vice Chancellor Alister Jones, University Council member Paul Adams, Bay Venues' Chairperson Peter Farmer and Bay Venues' Director Graeme Elvin.
In a statement issued this morning, Ms O'Sullivan, who also serves as Te Runanga o Ngati Ranginui chief executive said: "It is a real privilege to be offered this role and I am really excited to be part of this board with its wealth of experience, knowledge and networks, and to be involved in raising the profile of the Adams Centre and high performance sport in Tauranga.
"What we have here in Tauranga augments what is going on with high performance sport in Cambridge and Auckland and we are an integral part of that picture."
