Creative Bay of Plenty has appointed Lena Kovac as the organisation's new general manager.
Ms Kovac will join Creative Bay of Plenty as general manager from November 1.
"Lena has significant arts and management experience from around New Zealand and a strong understanding of the needs of the arts and culture sector in this country," said Marcus Wilkins, Creative Bay of Plenty chairman.
"There were several strong local, national and international candidates, but Lena clearly stood out. The board are very keen to work with Lena to assist us to fulfill our newly set purpose to 'create an environment where arts and culture thrive'," he said.
Ms Kovac is currently working in Auckland leading the Mairangi Arts Centre and has also had experience working at Creative Northland.
She and her family were looking to move down to Tauranga in the next couple of months having just returned from a three-month trip back to her homeland of Germany.
"My family and I are keen to move out of Auckland to the upcoming city of Tauranga and I'm looking forward to the challenge of leading Creative Bay of Plenty into the future," she said.
