Heavy rainfall over for the Bay

The Western Bay of Plenty had plenty of rain overnight, though it will ease today.

MetService meteorologist Kyle Lee said between 30 and 40mm was recorded at Te Puke and Tauranga Airport last night.

The Kaimai Ranges got the brunt of the weather, recording about 85mm of rain overnight.

Mr Lee said most of the heavy weather was over with possible showers this morning with up to another 40mm of rain.

This afternoon would still be cloudy one or two fine fine breaks, he said.

There would be a maximum temperature of 19C today minimum of 11C overnight.

The minimum this morning was 15C.
