Woman flown to hospital for urgent care

A Waihi woman has been flown to Waikato Hospital needing urgent medical care.

The Tauranga-based Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was called to Waihi this morning where the 69-year-old woman suffered a serious medical event.

The woman was stabilised by a local doctor and St John ambulance staff before being airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition.
