Mount Maunganui's Easter in the Park had drawn almost 8000 people just after lunch yesterday.

Coronation Park was jam-packed with kids and their parents on Good Friday, celebrating Easter and having an all-around good time. Don't miss the cute kids, tiny dogs and can you spot a Disney princess?
Event organiser Jackie Wickham said the event was going "really well", with the weather on their side and a larger crowd than last year.
Organisers had begun to divert about 60 per cent of waste to either compost or recycling, which was a new initiative this year.
