Police seek help

Tauranga Police are seeking the public's help to identify a man wanted in connection with the alleged theft of a large sum of cash from a local store.

Police said that shortly before 11am on December 28, a man went into the Dollar Store on Grey Street, Tauranga.

After spending some time in the store the man entered a rear room and allegedly stole a black laptop bag containing a large sum of cash, police said.

If anyone recognises the man in the above photo or has any other information that can assist police with the inquiry, call Tauranga Police Station on 07 577 4300, and ask for Constable Rachel Penfold.

All information will be treated as confidential, police said
