A book featuring old aerial photographs of Tauranga has leapt to second place on the Indie Top 20 list for the second week running - competing against the likes of Dan Carter: My Story.
The list is a weekly independent Top 20 bestsellers list compiled by Nielsen BookScan.
Rendell's Tauranga: Historic Tauranga from Above, by 98-year-old Alf Rendell and Fiona Kean, is also number nine of the Nielsen Weekly Bestsellers List for New Zealand Non-Fiction.
In the week ending November 21 the book was second only to Dan Carter's autobiography on the independent list.

Last week Mr Rendell's book was ranked above Carter's and was second only to Bob Francis: A Story of My Town.
The book features aerial photos of Tauranga and surrounds, taken between 1946 and 1956.
Mr Rendell said he was pleasantly surprised by the book's popularity so far.
Two thousand copies are being printed in the first run, thanks to financial backing from Legacy Trust.
"The book shop told me they have sold more of these than any other books since they have been in business."
Mr Rendell got into photography with his father in 1934. He had just finished school and could not get a job.
"I had friends who were learner pilots. I would pay their flying time so I could go up with them and take photos. It was only about 10 bob for about an hour or so. It was something I did for fun on the weekends after the war," he said.
Mr Rendell's friend, Tauranga Heritage Collections Curator, Fiona Kean, dedicated time to helping him put together a 160-page hard-covered book to showcase his photographs.
Mr Rendell is still a keen photographer.
