Boaties, fishermen and seafood fans will be in their element at this weekend's Tauranga Marine Show.
The show runs for three days, with a mix of the latest in boats, fishing gear, a showcase of local marine life and some tasty seafood.
Boaties can get up close to leading boat builders and industry experts and check out the latest in boats, fishing gear and expo deals.
This year's Tauranga Marine Show seminar series will cover a range of topics. Guest speakers include Mandy Kupenga from the television show Get your Fish On, who will share tips and advice for fishing newbies.
There will also be cooking demonstrations by celebrity chef Peter Blakeway showcasing how to cook delicious food on basic boating equipment.
Other seminar topics include sharks and stingrays, drugs from the sea, marine innovation, a look at the latest boat technology, a Young Mariners rigging demonstration, an update on the Rena oil spill and a pre-marine history talk.
On the water action includes free dragon boat rides by the Bay of Plenty Dragon Boat Club, Scott and Mig from Fishing and Adventure, free jet ski Rides with Action Sports Direct, surf lifesaving rescue demonstrations, Sealegs and Coastguard displays, SpongeBob makes an appearance on his ski biscuit and more.
Kewpie Cruises will be offering a ferry service from Pilot Bay and the Hawaiki Rising Voyaging Trust will bring their 22m double hulled waka Hinemoana up the inner harbour on Saturday morning as part of the show.
The show runs from 2pm to 6pm Friday and 9am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday on The Strand Waterfront, Downtown Tauranga.
