Rangataua Sports caused the major talking point in the Baywide Bayfair Premier final round by beating Rotoiti 28-27 at Maungatapu's Te Ariki Park.
The loss means Rotoiti drop out of the top four to be replaced by arch rivals Whakarewarewa, who travel away to Te Puke Sports in next week's semifinal.
Tauranga Sports host Mount Maunganui Sports in the other semifinal at Tauranga Domain in a repeat of today's game won 27-3 by Tauranga.
