The family of a man who was shot in Paeroa in 2012 are appealing to members of the public to come forward with information as the third anniversary of his death approaches.
Police said they were still no closer to identifying the person, or group, responsible for the "senseless and unexplained" killing of Jordan Voudouris in Paeroa three years ago.
Mr Voudouris was shot and killed in the early hours of June 18, 2012.
Following his death a large team of police worked on the case, and spoke with a large number of people within the Paeroa community and further afield, however no one was ever arrested in relation to Mr Voudouris' death.
Detective Sergeant Dean Anderson said that although the original investigation team has reduced in size, there was a small team of officers working through information the public had supplied over the last three years.
"We are grateful to all those that have come forward and offered information so far.
"Each piece of information supplied is assessed against the original investigation material and then enquiries are made to establish if the information remains credible and viable for investigation."
Mr Anderson encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
"There will be people out there that know exactly what happened and why it happened.
"All we ask is that they reflect on the impact this has had on Jordan's family and that they take that step forward and speak with police to help bring some form of closure for his family."
He said the Voudouris family asked anyone with information relating to Mr Voudouris' death, come forward and talk with police.
Anyone with information can make contact with their nearest police station, or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
