Tauranga City Council will receive $10,000 to support young people to lead, plan and deliver a Youth Forum, Tauranga MP Simon Bridges announced today.
The funding will be delivered under the Youth Development Partnership Fund 2015, which Mr Bridges said will fund Tauranga City Council to support young people to lead, plan and deliver a Youth Forum and events linked with the Council's Strategic Plan.
"The young people who take the opportunities this funding makes available will build essential skills and confidence for their futures.
"Our young people are bright, energised and innovative, this funding makes it possible for them to be involved in meaningful community activities, and to influence local decision-making," Mr Bridges said.
Tauranga joins 24 other city and district councils who will receive Youth Development Partnership funding.
