The wine was flowing and the sun was shining at the fourth annual Mills Reef Classic at the winery last night.
The event opened the four-day showjumping festival in style, with people dressed up for the occasion and locals making the most of a night of good food, wine and entertainment.
Long-time friends Chrissy Lane and Helen Stein were among the crowds enjoying a glass of wine and a night out yesterday.
The women had ridden horses as teens and were reminiscing about their show jumping days.
"We both used to ride when we were younger, we used to do the competing but it's been a long time now, so we're here to reminisce," Mrs Lane said.
Mills Reef was a handy venue for them and they enjoyed being able to spend the evening in the sun.
Friends Sue Dobson and Sue McDougall both came from families of horse riders and had packed a picnic for the night.
It was their third year attending the Mills Reef Classic.
Event secretary Sarah King was happy with another good turn out of competitors and crowd.
"It's a very social event and a beautiful venue.
"It gives a really good lead in to the show."
The four-day festival of show jumping culminates with the Bayleys Grand Prix on Sunday.
