A car seen weaving all over the road has flipped after hitting a tree on State Highway 2 at Te Puke.
The car landed upside down at the intersection of Jellicoe and Cameron Rd at 8.30am.
Police northern communications Inspector Chris Robinson said the were reports of minor injuries from the crash.
Mr Robinson said the car had been seen driving badly prior to the crash, which involved it flipping in the middle of the main street of Te Puke.
There was a lot of debris on the road, he said. People should expect delays while emergency services work to clear the scene.
A witness to the crash said the car landed upside down after hitting a tree.
Emergency services had since righted the car while waiting for a tow truck, he said.
Traffic was also backed up on Pyes Pa Rd after a truck jack-knifed this morning.
The road was closed at 6.50am near Pyes Pa School but was now clear.
