Hundreds turned out for the fifth White Ribbon tug-of-war in Tauranga this afternoon.
The annual event began at 5pm when about 20 ''White Ribbon Riders'' motorcycled into Fraser Cove, which got the awareness event underway.
Mayor Stuart Crosby opened the event with his support to end violence against women.
The large crowd pledged to never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence towards women again.
