A two car crash in Tauranga this morning caused "traffic mayhem" and two adults were taken to hospital.
Greerton senior fire fighter Mike Swanson said two cars crashed outside the Tauriko Caltex service station on State Highway 29 about 10.45am.
Fire fighters assisted with first aid until St John arrived and then worked to divert traffic around the back of the petrol station.
He said it created "a bit of traffic mayhem for about half an hour but since it's Saturday it wasn't as bad as it could've been".
Tauranga intensive care paramedic Craig Jones said a man and a woman, from separate cars, were taken to Tauranga Hospital with moderate injuries.
