The disappearance of a Mount Maunganui man has sparked serious concerns from police and his family.
Stephen Michael Tracey, 37, pictured, was last seen by family in Mount Maunganui about 5pm on Saturday.
Police said Mr Tracey told his family he was going for a walk and would return in about an hour.
He has not been seen since and police have established that he did not take his wallet or phone with him, which they said was out of character.
It is understood Mr Tracey had been living in Mount Maunganui with his father.
Police have carried out a number of searches with the assistance the Mount Maunganui Surf Lifesaving Club and local search and rescue volunteers, but there have been no sightings and Mr Tracey has not been in contact with his family.
His Facebook page is filling up with posts from friends and family urging him to come home.
"My Uncle Stephen Michael Tracey has gone missing from the Mount Maunganui area. If anyone has seen him, please let either the police or our family know.
"He's been missing since Saturday, and we are all very concerned about his disappearance.
"Uncle Steevie ... if you're out there ... please come back - we love you so much," one relative said.
