Bethlehem College student Georgia Lines has taken out the National Smokefree Woman's Musicianship Award in the 2014 Smokefree Rockquest.
The Year 13 musician was named in the top 30 finalists last month and again in the top six along with Joe's Van from Mount Maunganui College.
Miss Lines is currently in Auckland filming and recording her new song after cleaning up at the national event.
In an interview after she was named in the top 30, Miss Lines said it was a dream come true to have the chance to perform in front of a national crowd and get the exposure in her last year of college.
A keen musician throughout her life, Miss Lines started taking her music seriously at the start of college and hoped to take a year off study to focus on her writing and performing next year.
Miss Lines describes her music as a mash-up between pop, folk and alternative styles, she said her inspiration came from daily experiences.
