A crowd of about 30 to 40 construction workers have gathered outside Tauranga Hospital following a fire alarm this morning.
The alarm sounded about 11am at the newly opened Kathleen Kilgour Centre, on it's first day of operation with patients.
Firefighters have responded to the scene, but so far failed to find the cause of the alarm, a northern communications spokesman said.
A passer by called the Bay of Plenty Times to say a crowd of about 30 to 40 workers had gathered outside as fire trucks arrived.
