Tauranga motorists are being warned of delays as work begins on repair the Takitimu Drive overbridge from today.
The delays are expected for up to three weeks as contractors work to repair joints.
The works will take place during the day and at night, and will involve weekend work.
The NZ Transport Agency issued a statement which said the road would remain open but would be reduced to a single lane in each direction. The work is expected to be completed by June 9.
Motorists were advised to drive with care and to expect delays while traffic management was in place. The agency wanted to thank drivers for their patience, while the works were being done.
