UPDATED: Witnesses to a crash between a truck and car on State Highway 2 this morning are asked to contact police.
Police said both vehicles were travelling towards Te Puke when they collided near Poplar Lane at 7.54am.
A police northern communications spokeswoman said no one was injured in the crash.
Anyone who saw the incident is asked to call Senior Constable Loynes of the Western Bay traffic department on 5774300.
EARLIER: A crash on State Highway 2 between Papamoa and Te Puke has added to traffic delays from roadworks.
A police northern communications spokeswoman said the crash between a truck and a car happened just before 8am.
No one was injured in the crash, she said, but there was heavy traffic congestion.
A 600m stretch of State Highway 2 between Atuaroa Bridge and Te Puke Quarry Rd is undergoing road rehabilitation work expected to finish during the first week of April.
Detours were put in place after 9am around this stretch of road, a NZ Transport Agency spokeswoman said.
