A Tauranga supermarket has been evacuated and 200 litres of fuel has been spilled in two separate call outs for firefighters this morning.
Firefighters are helping clean up 200 litres of spilled fuel on Hewletts Rd this morning.
Northern communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said the spill happened at Z Energy station after a storage tank ruptured.
The fuel spilled into drains at the station.
Firefighters have also been called to Countdown supermarket in Fraser Cove.
People were evacuated from the supermarket about 8.35am after a fire alarm sounded.
Mr Phillips said the supermarket call out appeared to be a false alarm, with no sign of fire. However people had been evacuated.
