A severe weather has this morning been issued for the Bay of Plenty.
The wet weather comes from a humid northeast flow covering the North Island. A front lying over the upper North Island is expected to move slowly southeastwards today, preceded by a broad area of rain.
The warning was also issued for the Coromandel and northern Gisborne. Up to 120mm of rain is expected to fall with localised heavy downpours possible in thunderstorms.
People in are advised that rivers may rise rapidly and
surface flooding is possible in vulnerable areas.
