A Tauranga identity will soon be featured on one of the country's most popular television shows.
Blair Cashmore will be auctioning off one of the four houses from the television series The Block.
The TV show sees four teams going head to head to renovate four houses. They have to live in and do up their house.
The houses would be auctioned off at the end of the series, with the team whose house sold for the most winning.
Mr Cashmore, who is a Tauranga Bayleys auctioneer and former Steamers player, has been asked to be one of the four auctioneers for the final of the show on October 30.
"I'm very excited about it," he said.
"It's quite a privilege."
Mr Cashmore said he was a fan of the TV show but had not yet made his mind up about which house was his favourite.
"I think I will need to see the finished houses before I can make my mind up about which one I like best."
He said the auction process for the houses would undoubtedly be popular.
"You just have to look at last year. They had huge numbers of people through the open homes and at the auction. I can only imagine it would be just as popular this year."
He said his family was also excited about the event.
"My kids will be pretty excited to see me on TV."
